Alix Generous is twenty-two years old, and is on a mission to make a difference.
She presented at the United Nations for her research on coral reefs at nineteen. Now, she is graduating college and is a founder of Autism Sees, a company that is working to create assistive technology to enhance the lives of people on the autism spectrum. She is a lucid dreamer, an accomplished public speaker, and a fantastic comedian. Alix also has Asperger’s. In her Ted talk, she discusses the difficulties she faced growing up, from misdiagnoses to personal trauma to not getting that job at Waffle House. She also tells us of her vivid inner world, and what it’s like to live with Asperger’s from a personal perspective. Check out her story of working to create a world that better understands and supports people on the spectrum, and check out her company’s Kickstarter here. We think she’s amazing!
